Caracal introduced a pistol caliber carbine this year at SHOT Show 2013. Those who are already owners of a Caracal 9mm pistol can use any of the mags interchangeably with the new carbine – it accepts 10, 15, 18, and 30 round mags. The steel upper has a full rail with peep sights (front sight has a partially closed hood with a ball on the post to mark point of impact).

The polymer lower also features a quarter rail. The buttstock is removable, but connects to the rifle’s grip. The grip of the Caracal pistol carbine emulates the grip angle on the Caracal pistols, but with an added grip and thumb safety.

The polymer lower and stock make for a lightweight rifle. The Caracal pistol caliber carbine weighs in at about 6.5lbs (unloaded). The trigger pull is fairly light, too (3.5lbs). This carbine hasn’t released yet to distributors, but it’s scheduled to hit the market in second quarter of 2013 at a MSRP of $600.

If you’re more interested in the Caracal pistols, their new .40 is also scheduled to release second quarter of 2013. In response to demand that arose from owners of the 9mm, Caracal has added dovetailed rear sights and front slide cocking serrations. The Caracal .40 will be marketed at a MSRP of $500.
