Cimarron Firearms releases new Thunder & Lightning models

Ever wondered what it was like back in the Old West?  Cimarron Firearms let’s you shoot the old guns and get the real feel of history. History buffs and Cowboy Action Shooters can find everything they want at Cimarron.

CA980
Lightning® .38 Special, 3 1/2″
Designed along the lines of the classic Colt 1877 double-action revolver with its distinctive birds head grip–the ’77 Colt model was a favorite with such Old West characters as Billy the Kid, John Wesley Hardin and lady outlaws Calamity Jane and Pearl Hart. Cimarron has improved this handsome small-framed revolver by maintaining the grace and beauty of the 19th century model, but in a much more reliable and durable sixgun than the 19th century model. Colt’s early ’77 double actions suffered from too many complicated and fragile internal mechanisms, but Cimarron’s single-action Lightning, designed by Cimarron’s founder and president Mike B. Harvey and manufactured to their superior level of finish and strength, offers the modern shooter the looks and heft of the 19th century Lightnings, with single-action simplicity and 21st century reliability. Produced in barrel lengths of 3 1/2 inches, 4 3/4 inches, 5 1/2 inches and 6 1/2 inches, in the Standard Blue and color case hardened finish, Cimarron’s Lightning is available in .41 Colt, .38 Special, and a 10-shot .22 Long Rifle, depending on barrel length. Dueling Lightnings are also offered in the three shorter-barreled versions in .32-20/.32 H&R –with dual cylinders.

Thunderer® .45 LC, 3 1/2″
To paraphrase the famed film director John Ford, “If this isn’t the way the Old West sixguns were, it’s the way they should have been!” The Thunderer, a full-sized Model P, peacemaker-style single-action revolver that was designed by Cimarron founder and president Mike B. Harvey and made on the Old Model (pre-1896) frame and “bullseye” ejector head. However, as a departure from the traditional peacemaker-style arm, this six-shooter utilizes the natty birds head grip, and is much like that carried by Val Kilmer’s “Doc” Holliday in the 1993 hit Western, Tombstone. Cimarron’s Thunderer is available in the 4 3/4-inch barrel or the 5 1/2-inch barrel, as well as a 3 1/2-inch barreled version, that makes for a superb carry single action. This well-balanced smokewagon is offered in Standard Blue finish with the color case hardened frame and hammer, a .45 Colt, .45 Colt/.45 ACP dual cylinder, .44 Special, .44-40, .38 Special/.357 Magnum. This Cimarron Thunderer ‘is a daisy!’
