To add to the recent pistol recalls, Caracal has been struggling with safety issues with their Model C pistols since last October. The original Caracal Model C pistol recall was added to in February. And yesterday, Caracal has further expanded their Model C pistol recall to include every Model C they’ve produced.
What’s Wrong?
The first Caracal Model C pistol recall centered around a trigger safety failure that resulted in the gun firing unintentionally when dropped on a hard surface. The recall in February concerned Model C pistols that improperly heat-treated slides. During fire, the slides broke, which injured the shooters. The serial numbers effected were first released in March, but Caracal expanded the list in September to include all Model C pistols.

What to Do
If you, or someone you know, owns a Caracal model C pistol, Caracal recommends immediately unloading it (and not firing it). Then, get in touch with Caracal’s customer care department via phone (+205-655-7050) or email ([email protected]) for USA customers. International Caracal model C pistol owners are recommended to email [email protected] for more information.
What Happens Next
This Caracal Model C pistol recall is a no-fix recall. So, any effected pistols returned to Caracal will not be repaired or returned. Caracal will either refund Model C owners the purchase price, or provide vouchers for other Caracal products.
