American Tactical Imports (ATI) had their proto-type AR magazine well adapter at SHOT 2018. This cleverly conceived adapter changes your milspec AR lower into a a glock patternmagazine shooting pistol or carbine ready for your 9mm or .40 S&W upper.
While not in production yet, ATI expects to be shipping these wonders of technology out in the next few months. Looking closely at the prototype, it is high quality and filled with features. There are rumors of future models using the magazines of the Beretta 92/96 and the Sig 320.
A key feature which sets the ATI adapter apart is last round bolt hold open. This basic feature is absent from many very expensive carbines. You don’t have to shoot like a communist. The adapter inserts from the bottom and locks into place using the AR magazine catch.
The ATI adapter requires NO modifications to your lower or magazines. The release for the Glock magazines, pictured below, is located at the base of the adapter just forward of the magazine.
Made from 6061-T6 Aluminum, they only weigh 7 grams (.25 ounces). Even a light weight build can afford that.
The best part of the story is these devices are made in Summerville, South Carolina, helping make America and her ARs great once again. Life time warranty!
When they ship, the ATI AR adapter will include one 10-round ETS Glock mag. You can get your very own ATI adapter HERE when they are ready. Projected MSRP: $169.95
