Armscor USA Ammunition: Quality and Value

Armscor can trace its 111 year lineage back to 1905 in the Philippines. Known as Squires, Bingham & Co., they traded clothing, firearms and ammunition. The company changed hands and endured throughout the second world war. Obtaining the Philippines first firearms manufacturing license allowed the company’s rapid expansion. New plants opened up across the country which was pivotal to rebuilding post-war Philippines. It wasn’t until the 80’s that brought the “Armscor” name to the forefront. Additionally Armscor purchased Rock Island Armory, a leading manufacturer of 1911 pistols. Finally, in 2011, Armscor USA opens a production facility in Montana that exports product to 50 countries on 6 continents.

Before Northern Michigan became covered in a blanket of snow, I was fortunate enough to spend some time on the range with my Agency Arms Glock 34. As it turns out, the sheer joy of shooting this pistol makes it really easy to blow through 150 rounds of Armscor USA 9mm without remembering to perform any specific tests on the ammunition itself. Other than the flawless performance while conducting various shooting drills, I really don’t have any hard data to share. The primary mission of the 124 Grain FMJ ammunition is training and plinking. And it performed that task boringly well, 150 “pews” for 150 pulls of the trigger. Exactly what you want and expect from your training ammo.

Purchasing ammunition is never as fun as dropping a couple hundred bucks on a new trigger, barrel or sight. But constant training is what’s needed to stay frosty and that means purchasing good ammunition in bulk. Finding a balance between performance and price is tricky. No one wants to spend too much on ammunition but if you go too cheap, you risk issues with reliability. With a street price in the $.22/bullet range, Armscor USA has struck a perfect balance between the two. And the company phrase says it all, “Right on target. Right on price.”
