SOG Ranger 12 Backpack | Quick Look

October 13, 2016 by Scott Witner 1 Comment

SOG Ranger 12 Backpack | Quick Look

The SOG Ranger 12L has the makings of a great go-bag. When building a go-bag you want a pack that is lightweight, durable, and easy to move with. In a situation that calls for you to use your go-bag to get home may require you to move through tight spaces, maneuver over obstacles and carry the bag over distance. The design of the SOG Ranger 12L fits the bill for those situations. I’m going to load up my SOG Ranger backpack and hit the trails a few times to get a feel for the pack. I will follow up with another review highlighting how the pack handled, my thoughts and what my loadout consisted of.

From the SOG website:

The SOG Ranger is no stranger to a quick trip scouting new game trails or hiking the local mountain. It’s fast and light.

The quick-adjust shoulder straps, hip belt, and sheet suspension keep it comfortable all day long. This pack houses plenty of options for storage and organization: the main compartment has an interior zippered pocket and a padded tablet sleeve, the molded top contains a small organizing system for quick access items, the front organizer pocket with more interior sleeves, and an hydration carry to keep you hydrated Any extra or bulky gear can be cinched on to the pack’s side compression straps or attached to the Hypalon MOLLE field. For quick excursions, this 12L pack carries everything you need.

Specifications:

  • Capacity: 12 Liters
  • Dimensions: 19.3″ x 9″ x 6.3″
  • Weight: 28.3 ounces
