Savage Arms showed off a bunch of new firearms at the recent NRA Annual Meetings & Exhibits; three models that turned heads are the MSR 15 Long Range rifle, MSR 15 Blackout pistol and Model 110 Scout rifle.
Savage MSR 15 Long Range
Chambered in the new 224 Valkyrie cartridge and built for precision, the MSR 15 Long Range features a 22-inch stainless steel barrel. The barrel is topped with a two-port muzzle brake mounted to Savage’s taper-lock interface. This model also features a custom-length gas system paired with a low-profile adjustable gas block, which is enclosed in a free-float handguard. The gas block is adjustable for cycling of the full range of bullet weights. It’s also tuned for use with a suppressor. MSRP: $1,849.
Savage MSR 15 300 Blackout Pistol
Next up is the MSR 15 Blackout. Chambered in 300 Blackout, the MSR 15 Blackout AR pistol is equipped with a KAK Shockwave brace. Savage touts it as being adaptable to hunting, self-defense and tactical applications. It uses a pistol-length gas system. This allows shooters to use suppressors and reliably cycle subsonic ammo without adding length and weight. In addition, this model sports a 10.5-inch melanite QPQ coated barrel with 5R button rifling. It also comes with a Hogue pistol grip and Magpul MBUS flip-up front and rear sights. MSRP: $1,099.
Savage 110 Scout
Lastly, the new Model 110 Scout comes with the company’s AccuFit system which lets you customize the LOP and comb height. It also includes the user-adjustable AccuTrigger setup, which offers a crisp, clean pull. In addition, this feature-rich model features a 16.5-inch barrel, matte black, button-rifled, carbon steel barrel with a muzzle brake. Furthermore, it comes with a rugged FDE synthetic stock; forward mounted rail; and adjustable iron sights. It’s available in .223 Rem., .308 Win., .338 Federal and .450 Bushmaster. MSRP: $819.
