I have said that the Safariland ALS is the fastest holster in the world. Now I have to say that the new Safariland 7TS ALS holsters are even faster. A Bill Rogers concept, the 7TS is a glorious triumph of efficient American manufacturing, innovative materials, and design genius. A complete contradiction, the 7TS is an incredibly strong, yet affordable duty holster with no sacrifice in performance.
The secret of the 7TS is SafariSeven, a proprietary DuPont nylon blend. Tested from 300 to -50 degrees F, this stuff is impervious to all conditions found on Earth. Unless you are operating inside an active volcano or diving in liquid Nitrogen, this holster will function perfectly. SafariSeven allows one-piece precision-injection molding for efficient (low cost) manufacturing.
SafariSeven is very tough, so the 7TS is thinner than you expect. The one piece design folds over to create a corrugation, which increases the strength. The surfaces are slick and will not harm the finish of your gun. The 7TS will not bind during a draw and it does not swell or change when wet. The matte finish is designed to decrease reflection and can be maintained with a steel wool pad.

The mold produces an internal riser system which minimizes contact with the gun. This reduces draw friction to nothing while creating channels to shed debris or dust. The combination of the secure ALS locking system and the holster’s low friction means that once the gun starts moving into the draw, it seems to jump into your hand. Re-holstering is just as easy, and the ALS systems automatically locks the gun back in.
The ALS locking system engages the ejection port. It is easily accessed by any-size of thumb while forming the grip. I visualize pushing the holster away with my thumb. After a little practice, the holster just falls away with no conscious thought. An attacker has a much more difficult time getting to the gun because the angles are all different for him.
All Safariland holsters use a standard three-hole mounting system. This lets you plug the 7TS into your existing rig. My favorite set up is the Drop Flex Adaptor (below).
HolsterOps makes a modified 7TS for easier concealment (below). It is cut down to allow for an easier draw when used as a concealment holster on a high-ride mount, like a paddle. It’s available for the Glock 17, 19, 22 and 23. This holster is compatible with most current weapon-mounted lights.
