I was the grenadier in 1st Sqd, 3rd Plt, D Co. 4th Bn, 6th IR (M) 5th ID during Operation Just Cause. My unit participated in the assault of La Comandancia, security at the Papal Nunciature and various security and blocking operations afterward.
If you add a m17 promask, M203 vest, M69 frag vest, 6 M203 bandoliers and a PASGT helmet you’d have my load out.
I came back to find out that the “documentary” The Panama Deception made a movie star out of me. Just look for the 20 year old war criminal with VANCE on his helmet band in the first ten minutes.
