NovaSteel Ballistic Riot Armor, Covering Every Threat Level

July 28, 2024 by Fred Rowlands Leave a Comment

Honey, I’m ready for Black Friday shopping at Wal-Mart.  Well, maybe that’s a bit extreme but have you seen those people running/fighting for the last X-Box or PlayStation?  In today’s society riots happen quickly and without much warning often escalating into armed conflict.  Multi-threat protection is needed to stay safe in these environments but sadly standard riot gear is a lot like football or motocross armor—great for taking a hit but not much use against bullets, knives, or spikes.

A lot of riot officers wear soft armor panels under their riot gear to boost protection. But let’s be real, this adds extra weight, heat, and hassle, and still doesn’t fully guard against blades and other sharp threats.

Enter the Adept Armor NovaSteel Breastplate. This game-changing torso and shoulder protector is a drop-in upgrade for standard riot armor, boasting superior ballistic and ergonomic features. It’s a revolutionary step forward in protection against a wide array of street threats.

Multi-function and Multi-Threat capable

Concealable Multi-Threat Armor
For those needing NIJ IIIA protection, the NovaSteel Breastplate is a solid choice. At less than 0.1” thick, it’s the thinnest Level IIIA armor around. It’s lightweight, easily concealable, and offers coverage on par with most soft armor systems. Plus, it performs exceptionally well against common handgun threats like 9mm FMJ, with backface deformation averaging less than 10mm. Unlike typical concealable armor, it also provides top-tier stab and spike protection.

Uparmorable Steel Plate Carrier
The NovaSteel Breastplate isn’t just for light-duty situations. It’s a top-notch plate carrier that can be up-armored with special plates for more extreme threats. The ultra-light RF1 plates, weighing just 1.7 pounds each, let the breastplate handle NIJ Level III and similar rifle threats. RF2 plates are on the way. Up-armoring is a breeze, requiring just two bolts, included with the breastplate, and can be done in minutes.

For those who need it, the breastplate can also be equipped with MOLLE placards, transforming it into an overt structural plate carrier.

Shoulder Plates
Covering the critical shoulder area, these Armor Shoulder plates also protect your upper chest from side attacks. They offer VPAM-3 ballistic protection, exceed NIJ Spike-3 and Knife-3 standards, and provide excellent blunt impact defense.

Lightweight Design
Each shoulder plate weighs in at less than a pound, perfect for long-term wear in tough situations.

Seamless Integration
These plates fit most plate carriers and can be easily attached to existing armor systems, enhancing your protection without requiring a complete gear overhaul.

Shoulder Plates are Adaptable and Fit Other Armor Systems

Performance of the NovaSteel Breastplate and Shoulder Plates

Handgun threats: LEVEL IIIA
Knives: Exceeds KNIFE-3
Spikes: Exceeds SPIKE-3
Blunt Impacts: Exceeds 100J

In Conclusion

The Adept Armor NovaSteel Breastplate is a groundbreaking upgrade for standard riot gear, providing enhanced ballistic and ergonomic protection. Unlike typical riot armor, which only shields against blunt impacts, the NovaSteel offers comprehensive defense against bullets, knives, spikes, and blunt force. It’s incredibly thin at less than 0.1” and lightweight, making it easily concealable while still delivering NIJ IIIA protection.

For more extreme threats, the breastplate can be up-armored with ultra-light RF1 plates to handle NIJ Level III rifle threats. The adaptable design allows for quick and easy upgrades and the addition of MOLLE placards for overt use. Shoulder plates further extend protection, covering critical areas with VPAM-3 ballistic, knife, and spike resistance, all while being lightweight and compatible with most plate carriers.

The NovaSteel Breastplate represents a significant advancement in riot armor, providing superior protection against a wide range of threats while maintaining comfort and ease of use.
