Eberlestock X4 Backpack: Quick Look

Eberlestock X4 Backpack: Quick Look

Eberlestock packs are well known throughout the world by many hunting, military, and law-enforcement personnel who expect their packs to not let them down. Eberlestock founder Glen Eberle has built his company with the end user in mind; he has stated on numerous occasions that he isn’t afraid to try new things, or try to make existing things better and stronger.

Glen’s policy of listening to his customers’ needs and his constant search for improvements have propelled his company to the top of the pile when it comes to packs. Glen Eberle and the entire Eberlestock company’s tireless support of the military and outdoor community since 1985 makes us proud to give you a look at the Eberlestock X4 High-Speed Pack.

Colors available: Black, Coyote Brown, Dry Earth, Military Green (O.D. green), Multicam, Unicam II.

Sizes available: One size

Weight: 4lbs, 7 oz.

Dimensions: 22″ long X 11″ wide X 8.5″ deep

Material: 500-denier ripstop nylon

Buckles: Super-tough Acetal Delrin resin

Zipper: Premium nylon coil

Suspension system/carrying capacity: 1400 cubic inch capacity (23 liters). Uses a vertically configurable harness to adjust pack placement.

MSRP: $179.00

Unique features: The X4 provides a generous amount of lumbar support, allowing the wearer to keep the pack close to the body for a lower profile. The pack has excellent ventilation, providing hours of wear and use with minimal discomfort. It’s also set up to accommodate six different styles of pouches that can be easily attached—ranging from a 100-ounce water bladder to a large accessory pack perfect for medical equipment or a poncho.

Pros: Low profile, highly customizable pack that provides great lumbar support. Top-quality from an American company. Lots of color choices available.

Cons: None apparent at this time.

Overall performance: The world of backpacks is a crowded arena, but Eberlestock’s track record and quality makes it rise to the top. You would be hard pressed to find a pack with this many choices of color and accessories that mesh so well together. The X4 is built to be a three-day style pack; it isn’t overly large, and is built to sit closer to the body than traditional larger packs. This pack would be perfect for sheep hunters, day hikers, or anyone wanting a medium-sized pack that will last years.

x4back

The Eberlestock X4 may not fit the needs of everyone—no single backpack will—but the X4 excels in the area it was designed for. A medium-sized backpack that can take the weather and elements and ride where it’s supposed to on the user. The 1400-cubic-inch capacity makes it a great pack to use on either a single day trip or a three-day hunt. If you are in the market for a backpack for yourself or a friend or family member, be sure to check out the X4 or the other packs in the Eberlestock family.

The Eberlestock X4 High-Speed Pack can be purchased on Amazon.com.
