Dark Angel Medical Trauma Kit Gen 3 | First Impressions

Dark Angel Medical Trauma Kit Gen 3 | First Impressions

In order to compete my tactical shooter’s belt, there was just one more item I needed.  It’s a very important item, maybe the most important on my rig. That item is a modular medical trauma kit made by Dark Angel Medical. The reason why I say the most important is because we spend the majority of our time researching different weapons and firearms but we tend to put off first aid and medical training as the least of our worries, almost as if we know we will never need it. I’m tired of taking those chances and feel it is something that should be constantly trained on and kept up to date. Just because you haven’t needed to use it doesn’t mean you won’t in the future. Keep in mind that the time chooses you, but it’s up to you to be prepared.

Dark Angel Medical Trauma Kit Gen 3 | First Impressions

The D.A.R.K. (Direct Action Response Kit) Generation 3 trauma kit comes complete with a Gen 3 Molle pouch that has medical shear retention straps on either side of the pouch. The D.A.R.K has everything you need and nothing you don’t. It is a complete medical first aid trauma kit in the size of a 16 oz. soda bottle. It was designed and manufactured by Dark Angel Medical with “simplicity under stress” kept in mind for when you need it the most. The D.A.R.K trauma kit is perfect for Military, Law Enforcement, First Responders or even civilian use.

Dark Angel Medical Trauma Kit Gen 3 | First Impressions

The Gen 3 trauma kit is simple, compact in design and best of all, it is made in the U.S.A. The following items are included:

  • Vacuum-sealed components to include:

  • Nitrile gloves, size L 1 pair

  • HALO Seals 1 pair

  • Nasal Airway x1

  • 4” Israeli Bandage x1

  • QuikCLot Combat Gauze LE or ChitoGauze XR Pro(MIL-SPEC Kits contain QuikClot Combat Gauze MIL) x1

  • Compressed Gauze x1

  • Mylar Blanket x1

  • Polycarbonate Eyeshield (current USMC issue eye shield and is recommended by the Committee on Tactical Casualty Combat Care)

  • Ten Tac Med Tips Assessment Card (NEW ITEM) x1

Dark Angel Medical incorporates over 50 years of medical experience and over 30 years of active duty Military Experience when designing the latest up to date medical training and supplies. I chose the Mil-Spec Gen 3 trauma kit for multiple reasons. The first is the fact that every component fits snuggly into an adjustable, easy to get to velcro pouch. It fits perfectly on my shooter’s belt and won’t slide off when running or moving on the range or in battle. Second of all, I feel like I’m giving back to a company that gives so much for all first responders in everything they do.  The training, the products, even the customer service is great.  I will do a more in-depth write-up of how the kit actually works and hope I can give you a further look at the functionality of the Dark Angel Medical Gen 3 trauma kit.
