A torque wrench is a handy tool for field maintenance of your weapon system, essential for properly tightening your action’s screws and scope-mounting screws while deployed in the field, or even just prior to each shooting session to ensure proper accuracy and functionality. Borka Tools‘ torque driver, also known as the multi torque driver (MTD), has 12 fixed torque settings, incorporating two ranges—high and low—of six torque settings each. This allows the user to select one of 12 torque settings by simply inserting the hex-bit holder into the corresponding driver arm sockets, which are laser-marked with torque values. This makes driver setup simple and fast.
A clever solution is presented here by Borka Tools. They designed a small and compact tool with the ability to perform multiple torque settings, but yet is small and light weight. The settings are not coincidentally the most common for tactical rifle use, and they have even included a nice T.A.B. Gear canvas case to package it for easy storage.
Weighing under six ounces, this tool is highly compact and portable. In fact, it will easily fit in your stock pack without even noticing it. A key benefit to this tool is the noticeable lack of backlash when torquing. This is an excellent feature, as the tool breaks clean at the desired weight.
The pouch this kit comes in also allows you to store a few cleaning rods or a small multitool, if need be. When you’re out in the field and for whatever reason need to perform maintenance on your scope mounts or anything else on your precision rifle, this is the kit to have. It’s as simple as it gets, and it’s effective!
