Boker Plus Lancer Knife | First Impressions

April 3, 2017 by Scott Witner Leave a Comment

Boker Plus Lancer Knife | First Impressions

Boker recently released a new knife they collaborated on with knife designer Serge Panchenko, called the Boker Plus Lancer.

Description from the original press release:

The very flat design offers an extremely high carrying comfort, and the strong construction creates a smooth action and strong reliability. Between the two G-10 handles the single titanium liner of the linerlock knife keeps the weight on a very low and comfortable level. The clip is also made of titanium.

The handle of the knife is made from G-10, but is not so grippy that it will wear out your pockets. The G-10 material they used for this knife is smoother than most, but still offers just enough grip for what you’ll be using this knife for.

The liner lock as mentioned in the press release is made from titanium. The liner lock is very easy to manipulate and does not stick at all when releasing the lock. Due to the cut out in the handle and the larger surface area of the lock, you can easily manipulate the lock with gloves on as well. I think it’s a cool design the way they did the liner lock.

The blade of the Lancer is pretty impressive. It is a spear point blade lending itself to work well for most EDC tasks. The steel used is 440c (The first run of these knives were made with CPM-S35VN steel). The blade has a stone washed finish which I prefer on knives. The stone washed finish does help with corrosion resistance and just plain looks cool. Blade deployment is extremely smooth and using the thumb hole.

The knife does have an all titanium pocket clip, but due to the low profile and light weight of this knife I prefer to just drop it in my pocket.

Overall this is a great EDC knife for those lighter duty tasks. I would not attempt to put this knife through any heavy use, as that is not what it’s designed for. If you’re looking for a slim lightweight knife to use for any general tasks that come up then the Boker Lancer is the knife for you.
