Watch: The DART Knife | Doug Marcaida

Watch: The DART Knife | Doug Marcaida

I just recently received the DART knife in the mail. After watching Doug Marcaida’s videos and doing my own research I decided to pull the trigger and make the purchase. What sold me on the design is the feature with reverse grip deployment. I’ve carried an Emerson Super Karambit and always loved the quick deployment […]

XS Big Dot Sights on the Glock 17

XS Big Dot Sights on the Glock 17

XS Sights have been around for several years now, but I rarely ever see them on the range or in training courses I’ve taken. Maybe it’s because they are considered to be more of a ‘combat sight’ and not for precision shooting. If your goal is to put rounds on target in as tight a […]

FITS Tactical Crew Socks

FITS Tactical Crew Socks

Most people out there living an active lifestyle whether that is shooting, hiking, running, or backpacking will not argue the fact about wearing wool socks. I’ve been through a few different brands of wool socks over the years and have my opinions. I have two primary pet peeves when it comes to socks in general. […]

My Vanquest FATPack 4X6 (Gen-2) First Aid Trauma Pack Contents

In a previous article I reviewed the new Vanquest FATPpack 4X6 Generation 2 pouch. Since that initial review I have been carrying the FATPack daily inside my backpack. After playing around with arranging the contents I have come up with a final configuration. The contents of my Vanquest FATPack trauma kit contain only what I’m […]

The Colonel Low-Vz Personal Defense Knife

The Colonel Low-Vz Personal Defense Knife

I’ve been a knife guy for quite some time and have carried one on me since the 90’s. Over time my preferred knife changes as does my philosophy of use and reason for carrying. We have published several articles on the Loadout Room pertaining to carrying a concealed fixed blade for personal defense. Although this […]

Video | John ‘Shrek’ McPhee Talks about his 2 Point Adjustable Sling

Here we are taking another quick look at a product offered by SOB Tactical; the 2 point adjustable sling designed and sold by John ‘Shrek’ McPhee. Back in the day 2 point slings were all there was. As time evolved and gear evolved, the single point slings became more popular. In the Marine Corps we […]

My Trail Running Gear and Clothing

My Trail Running Gear and Clothing

I’ve been a pretty avid runner for the past several years. I’ve completed half marathon’s, full marathon’s, the Tough Mudder and several smaller 5k runs. I’ve used a lot of different running gear and clothing; some of it worked great while others were total crap. I’m going to highlight what works for me, so I […]

What should you include in your Personal Survival Kit?

What should you include in your Personal Survival Kit?

First of all we need to define what the intended use is of the Personal Survival Kit. Typically this is going to be a kit of last resort when your life is in danger. That could be something as simple as getting lost or injured during a day hike that causes you to have to […]
