I’ve tied a lot of knots in my life
I hate to admit it, but I’ve “knot” kept up with all of the knots I’ve learned over my lifetime. Too often, since my forgetting of said knots, I’ve found myself in a situation where I needed one, but did “knot” have one. (okay, no more knot  jokes).
If you’re not worried about knots there is something wrong with you
Okay a bit aggressive, but anytime I’m out being active I have a need for some sort of knot. So I’m guessing if you’re “Knot” (yes I’m stretching it) worried about knots, you’ve either settled-on lifelong knots that you will be using forever, or you’re not getting out enough.
I didn’t know an app like this even existed
So this post was going to be about tying a “Swiss Seat”. A rapid and safe way to produce a hasty climbing harness that you can actually hide under clothing. Very cool and very handy should you need to quickly repel from something.
Then I learned there were app’s for this kind of thing. So instead of firing myself as an editor, I thought I’d just share the app with you.
Why did I pick this one?
Easy. It had the word “Grog” in it and it was the most expensive one. Often I’ll buy the more expensive apps. It’s a biological phenomenon related to the principles of “Marginal Utility”. Meaning that if it’s more expensive it must be better. Yes… Not always true, but I like to support these guys so that they can make the apps even better. “Knot” kidding… I really do.
In this case the app had what looked like an improved version of the “Swiss Seat”. So the cost ($4.99) paid off.
Here’s what to do:Â
- If you want to learn how to tie a Swiss Seat you can google it.
- If you want to keep a ready reference for knots handy you can buy the app for $4.99.
- If you want to check out their animated knots first (I would recommend) go here: Animated Knots By GrogÂ
“Tie” ins to other posts: (I know. I can’t help myself now)
Mini Frog Kit – Pirates and Trees
- If you dig the capability of the “Mini Frog Kit” mentioned above and want to make your own. Go here: Distel Hitch
Enjoy…
