Take your Kel-Tec Sub 2000 to another level | M*CARBO Muzzle Brake review

Take your Kel-Tec Sub 2000 to another level | M*CARBO Muzzle Break review

Readers of this site who happen to also be fans of the Kel-Tec Sub 2000 may remember a recent article I wrote on the top upgrades available for your Sub 2000. That article focused on upgrading parts that I felt made the gun safer and more reliable – almost out of necessity to fix certain design flaws or areas that had room for improvement. Now, M*CARBO has released a muzzle brake for the Sub 2000, which might be considered an optional item but one that offers serious performance enhancement. It isn’t just for looks.

M*CARBO offers their hybrid muzzle brake and compensator for $64.95 on their site, and it can be installed in as little as five minutes! Designed to reduce muzzle rise and felt recoil, in conjunction with the other upgrades I have covered for the Sub 2000 it makes this rifle perform on a ridiculously high level for what it is.

Here are the quick specs:

  • 9mm version works for any 9mm barrel with 1/2″-28 threads
  • 40 cal version works for any .40 cal barrel with 9/16″-24 threads
  • Precision Machined using A311 Carbon Steel Muzzle Brake
  • Superior Counter-Force A311 Jam Nut
  • Protected by the M*CARBO 100% Lifetime Guarantee

The MCARBO Kel-Tec Sub 2000 muzzle brake comes with:

  • Muzzle Brake
  • Custom Jam Nut
  • Laser Cut Wrench
  • Rocksett (optional for extra $2.95)

As with every other product offered by M*CARBO, president Chris Nelson offers incredibly easy-to-follow video instructions to ensure successful installation of their products. See below for his muzzle brake install video.

At the range, the muzzle brake performed as perfectly as I expected it to. In conjunction with my prior M*CARBO upgrades on this rifle, this weapon shoots incredibly flat with the muzzle rising only an inch or so. Not only does it add a little extra cool-factor to it, but it is functional and only adds an extra inch or so to the overall length. It looks mean, performs exceptionally well, and is constructed to last. If you’re a Sub 2000 fan be sure to check this muzzle brake out for yourself.
