Springfield Armory Teams Up With Trijicon: 10mm Bad, RMR Good

May 3, 2018 by The Arms Guide Guest Writer Leave a Comment

The outstanding Springfield Armory TRP 10mm is now even better. The new  RMR version sports a shiney Trijicon® Optic with a Red-Dot for Fast Target Acquisition

There are two models, one with a 5” barrel, and one with a 6” barrel – are now available with a Trijicon Ruggedized Miniature Reflex (RMR) sight milled into the slide of Springfield Armory’s most elite production 1911. The Trijicon RMR mount features an integrated rear tritium sight that allows a lower 1/3 co-witness of the front tritium sight post.

Springfield Armory chose Trijicon, the proven leader in rugged red-dot optics, for its ability to stand up to the power of the formidable 10mm round. The sight is crafted from 7075-T6 aluminum to mil-spec standards and has a patented shape that absorbs impacts and diverts stresses away from the lens, increasing durability.

“A strong optic that mirrors the robust, yet finely-detailed qualities of the TRP line was crucial in determining what red-dot we decided to offer our consumers,” explains Springfield Armory CEO Dennis Reese.  “Easier targeting and sight acquisition makes a difference in the seconds when it matters most, and we are proud to offer the Trijicon RMR on our 10mm TRP.”

The 5” and 6” TRP 10mm RMRs feature forged National Match frames and slides, precision-fit to match-grade stainless steel fully supported barrels. Frames and slides are Black-T finished to withstand heavy use and harsh environments.

The front strap and mainspring housing are checkered in Posi-Lock™ for a firm yet comfortable hold. A TechWell Magwell/Grip System allows for rapid mag changes under stress without adding any more bulk to the contour of the gun.

Once the ambidextrous safety lever is flipped, the Springfield Armory Gen 2 Speed Trigger, calibrated to a crisp 4.5- to 5-pound pull, provides an amazingly clean break. Recoil is managed through extra mass in the reciprocating assembly and frame, making the power of the 10mm round easy on the operator. Each TRP 10mm RMR is shipped with two 9-round magazines.

Take Springfield Armory’s most elite production platform, the TRP, and add a Trijicon Ruggedized Miniature Reflex optic, and you’ve got a critical-use 1911 like nothing else – the new TRP 10mm RMR.

About Springfield Armory®

In 1794, the original Springfield Armory was designated as our national armory by General George Washington, and began manufacturing muskets for the defense of our young, free Republic.  This monumental institution went on to serve as a think tank for developing innovative firearms concepts and producing some of the most storied rifle platforms in our country’s history.  The Armory functioned as a firearms supplier for every major American conflict until 1968 when the government sadly closed its doors. In 1974, two centuries after its inception, Springfield Armory Inc. in Geneseo, IL revived the iconic heritage of the Armory to carry on its legacy and restore the Springfield Armory name.

Springfield Armory Inc. engineers, manufactures and assembles their legendary M1A™, 1911, 911 and SAINT® AR-15 lines of firearms in Geneseo, Illinois. Since 2001, Springfield Armory has enjoyed a strategic, collaborative partnership with the state-of-the-art factory in Croatia working hand-in-hand to develop and engineer the multiple award-winning line of XD® polymer pistols that have become staples in the US marketplace. We strive to honor this responsibility as guardians of the original Springfield Armory legacy by manufacturing the highest quality firearms to enable responsible citizens to preserve their right to keep and bear arms in the defense of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

With an unmatched emphasis on craftsmanship, performance and exceptional customer service, our mission is to forge superior firearms and provide the tools necessary to defend individual freedoms and equality for those who embrace the rights and principles secured by our Founding Fathers.  For more information, please visit us at: springfield-armory.com.
