Streamlight portable USB device charger

July 20, 2018 by Scott Witner Leave a Comment

Streamlight portable USB device charger

There seem’s to be quite a few manufacturers of USB device chargers. Everything from the cheap little charging sticks that give you a single charge to the larger ones that provide the ability to charge phones, tablets and other USB powered devices. I personally prefer a middle of the road charger that can charge/power my iPhone if the onboard battery dies before getting back home. If I’m out all day and using my phone on a regular basis (which I typically do) then 1 charge may not be enough, but I don’t want to carry around a larger charging pack. Enter the Streamlight EPU-5200 portable USB device charger.

I’ve been carrying and using Streamlight flashlights for several years now and have been nothing short of impressed with their build quality and performance. After doing some searching online I came across the EPU-5200 and decided to give it a try. The device had two key features that really intrigued me and convinced me to get my hands on it. First, it provides a minimum of 2 full charges to my iPhone depending on the power level of the charger. Second, the cover that goes over the USB connector is a sealed cover that is rated for IPX4 water resistance.

On my personal unit, I removed the pocket clip and slipped on an SOB Tactical Combat Band, which secures the short charging cable supplied with the EPU-5200.

The case of the Streamlight EPU-5200 is easy to manipulate, durable and water resistant making this an ideal choice for someone living an active lifestyle or working an active job.
