Ever since Spyderco confirmed that they were working on a smaller version of their uber-popular Paramilitary 2, the hype for what would become the Para 3 was potent. The combination of the PM2’s beloved design – the strong yet precise blade, compression lock, and great ergonomics – with a smaller, more pocket-friendly form factor, was enough to feed anticipation for years. And when the Para 3 finally did arrive, it delivered on its promise. It’s everything you love about the Paramilitary 2, just smaller. Yet, the Para 3 isn’t simply a scaled-down PM2. Spyderco made some subtle and thoughtful design tweaks to adapt the handle and blade for its smaller scale.
Once the Para 3 made it into production, Spyderco wasted no time in rolling out the variations. The current menu of Para 3s include a fully serrated, partially serrated, blacked-out, digicam, and a Blurple G10 in S110V version. Variations available for pre-order include a Gray G10 and Cru-Wear, Dark Gray G10 and Maxamet, and Carbon Fiber and S90V sprint runs of the best selling blade.
