New York’s SAFE Act clamped considerable restrictions on firearms and shooting accessories when it passed on January 15, 2013. In response, some New York based companies have left the state, such as Kahr Arms and American Tactical Imports, for more firearms-friendly locations. Other gun manufacturers have begun releasing “NY compliant” AR-15 style rifles, including Stag Arms, and our feature in this article, Black Rain Ordnance.
Recently, Black Rain Ordnance shared a newsletter announcing their NY compliant AR-15 and AR-10 models. BRO’s stance on the SAFE Act restrictions is detectable in their announcement’s thinly veiled sarcasm.
Despite the laundry list of prohibited components, including adjustable buttstocks, flash hiders, standard capacity magazines, and “evil bayonet lugs,” Black Rain Ordnance has come up with design elements that convert a standard AR-15 rifle into an awesome space age looking completely NY compliant AR-15 (or AR-10) rifle. Here’s the list of NY compliant AR rifles Black Rain Ordnance now offers:

AR-10 (.308/7.62×51) |

Previously, I have never considered purchasing a rifle that was adjusted to comply with another state’s more stringent firearms constraints til I saw this beauty. Am I the only person who wants one?
I wonder if they work with drum magazines…
