Metal framed pistols have a stigma of not being very strong when compared to the newer polymer framed pistols on the market. For the most part, this is true because of polymer being much more resistant to the shock of the slide bashing the frame on each shot. But you must remember that many of the most popular and long lasting pistols on the market do have metal frames. Examples would be the CZ75, 1911,Browning Hi-Power, Sig 22x, DP51, and the Beretta 92.
