TorkMag has figured out how to convert an AR magazine well to shoot with slightly modified Glock mags. TorkMag has solved the problems with 9mm conversions and provided the perfect way to make your AR pistol or rifle run Glock magazines.
The provided template makes it simple to remove a little polymer over the mags steel frame to allow the AR mag catch to hold. Their 20-rd. TorkMag G17 magazines come already modified and ready to shoot.
I was an early adopter of 9mm AR magazine well conversions. The good ones were expensive, the cheap ones did not work and they all used the Colt pattern mags which were hard to load and temperamental.
I finally got one of the TorkMag conversions and rushed out to the range. Using my AR pistol lower and a 9mm upper with a Glock cut bolt, it installed easily and the ejector lined up properly on the first try.
TorkMag says to only use and OEM Glock mags. I used the provided template and made the slot as per instructions. It dropped in and worked right away.
Feeling lucky, I also modified an unmarked Korean aftermarket 32 round mag. It also functioned well.
I shot about two hundred rounds of mixed ammo, ball and hollow points with no problems. The adapter stayed in place, the ejector worked and I was shooting from modified Glock mags in a standard MILSPEC AR lower.
It should be noted that this will work with Glock .40 magazines and a .40 upper. I may try that next with my Lone Wolf .40 upper.

The TorkMag G17 is shorter than a Glock made 17-round magazine with a factory +2 extension. The included baseplate allows for quick retrieval from a pouch under stress. It is also compatible with standard Glock baseplates or extensions.has ambidextrous mag catches to ensure accessibility for southpaws using 4th Gen. Glock pistols.
An AR15 mag catch is also molded into the left side of the TorkMag G17’s main tube to allow out-of-the-box use with their G-Block conversion kit for pistol-caliber AR carbines. A lateral witness hole indicates when the mag is fully loaded.
