The Minimalist Stock From MFT

Setting the record straight

In a recent article, it could have seemed like I threw shade on a product from Mission First Tactical. Namely, their Torch: back up light. I don’t see it as throwing shade at all. Rather, it was intel for you, our valued readers. You need to know exactly what you’re getting so that you can make the best possible buying decisions.

However, anyone who knows me knows that I like gear, and I especially like some products from MFT.

Their minimalist stock is one of my favorites. Its adjustment is tight, but it’s intended to be, and it can be worked in over time. The profile of the MFT is attractive to my eye, but it’s attractive because of its function-over-form design that ironically lends to the appeal of its form factor.

Minimalist design

The Battlelink minimalist stock is incredibly lightweight at just under 6 ounces. Over more than a year of testing, the design has proven robust. It takes a beating and just keeps moving forward— doing its job.

The Battlelink features a simple slide-on installation, quick detach and traditional threaded sling attachment points, and a non-slip butt pad.

The design is constructed out of military grade polyamide, is available for both commercial and mil spec buffer tubes, and is made in the good ol’ USA.

The function of the stock is where it truly shines. Shooters know that saving weight is great, but if you have to sacrifice cheek weld or shoulder mount, it isn’t worth it. Neither of these is sacrificed. In fact, the weight savings arguably helps the shooter get into position more readily.

The code cracked

Beyond the initial impression, the stock can be used all day without greater than usual shooter fatigue.

MFT cracked the code: light, durable, shootable AND Instagram worthy! I’d love to hear about your experiences with the Minimalist stock from MFT in the comments below.
