Pro-Tech Knives recently debuted the Calmigo, the latest in their lineup of sub-2” automatic knives. The new California-legal automatic includes several new features. Unlike most new knives that companies are showing off at this time of year, the Calmigo is expected to be available to purchase before the end of the calendar year.
Pro-Tech bills the Calmigo as a friendly automatic for newbies to the product class. “It’s not a stiletto, it’s not big and tactical,” Pro-Tech President Dave Wattenberg tells us. “This is a great crossover knife. I think it will help newcomers to autos get over the switchblade stigma.”
The Calmigo follows in the footsteps of other small Pro-Tech automatics like the Sprint and Runt, but there are some noticeable differences. The fat, stubby drop point is a new blade profile for this size class. A secondary safety toggle and deep carry clip round out the new features list and make the 2.2 oz. Calmigo a practical daily companion. “It is really built around EDC,” says Wattenberg. “This is the kind of knife you can have with you all the time.”
