The EOTECH Vudu 1-6X rifle scope was one of the new offerings that really jumped out and caught our attention at the first day of SHOT Show 2017. EOTECH a company once thought of as primarily a maker of red dot optics has made aggressive moves in the last few months to expand their product line with the release of three new optics they have called their Vudu line. The one that the team from The Arms Guide got to try was the Vudu 1-6X, an optic they intend to market to the expanding world of three gun shooters.
The Vudu is a compact optic but feels much like a full size optic while it was sitting on the top of the 16″ barreled AR-15 on the SHOT Show firing line. When I used the optic I noticed the image clarity was much better than other similar style optics I had tried. The display model featured an optional pronounced lever on the magnification ring, an option that I found helpful but other shooters opinions may very. I suspect EOTECH put this option on the demo gun so that it was easier to show users how fast it can adjust between 1x and 6x magnification.

In my range experience with the EOTECH VUDU 1x-6x I found myself impressed by the overall build quality of the optic and how easy it was to use. The optic helped myself and other shooters in our group pick up and acquire targets at all magnification levels. The ease at which a user can switch between 1x and 6x was much easier than I had originally thought it would be. This 1x-6x variable optic would be perfectly suited for anyone who is looking for a short to mid range scope for any number of rifle platforms.
The future for EOTECH looks wide open and from the small offerings that I was able to test at the 2017 SHOT Show Industry Day at the Range I think EOTECH will be just fine as the company moves forward into 2017. We want to take a second to publicly say thanks to EOTECH and their staff for letting us take an good long look at the Vudu series and answering all our questions.
