The good thing about being a writer is I get to be picky about what I publish and cover. My typical rule for things like SHOT Show is Marine owned companies first, then veteran-owned, and then Florida based companies. As a Floridian myself, I tend to identify with companies that bring business to my state. Sol Invictus is likely most well known for their acquisition of the AA-12 shotgun design. However the Sol Invictus Pistol Caliber Carbine designs bear some mentioning.
The Sol Invictus Pistol Caliber Carbines
The Sol Invictus PCC line is AR 15 based, and are chambered in 4 different calibers. This includes the 9mm, the Holy 10mm, the 40 S&W, and the old man’s 45 ACP. The designs come as pistols with braces from SB Tactical. The utilize Glock magazines and at SHOT Show 2019 they brought out the 9mm, 10mm, and 45 ACP Sol Invictus Pistol Caliber Carbines. I had a chance to run the 9mm, 45 ACP, and of course the 10mm.
Of Course SHOT Show doesn’t offer enough range time for a full review, but enough so to offer me a solid first impression. Of my shooting, some of my favorites were the Sol Invictus Pistol Caliber Carbines. These guns were rock solid, well made, and quite accurate. I like to cobble my own ARs from 80 percent lowers, but I can’t do this. The quality and craftsmanship is amazing. I had no issues ringing steel at a variety of ranges. They had a number of hostage style steel IPSC targets with swinging circular targets. I could ring the swinging circle with ease. Just a steady rhythm of left to right and right to left. It was an absolute blast.
The 10mm was my perfect of the Sol Invictus pistol caliber carbines. Mostly because I’m inherently biased towards the 10mm round. It’s a flat shooting, powerful round that’s perfect of a pistol caliber carbine. The Sol Invictus guns feed from a common magazine and do so reliably and accurately. Of course, the 45 ACP version was Trumpified for fun. It bore the Trump Punisher skull, as well as a Not Fired and Fired safety setting.
These little guns are an absolute blast and you can check them out here.
