My Sinn 104 St Sa Watch: A Classic Pilot Watch

My Sinn 104 St Sa Watch: A Classic Pilot Watch

“For many men, watches seem to have a deeper meaning than just keeping time. Watches mark special occasions, they tell the world a bit about who you are, and they can, if you’re lucky, connect you to the people in your life who matter most… At the end of the day, a watch is just a watch—it’s the story behind it that can make it exceptional.” -Matt Hranek from A Man & His Watch

Pictured here is my Sinn 104 St Sa. I wore this watch for the first time as I walked across the stage during my graduation ceremony. For me, it commemorates an achievement and a milestone, plus its one hell of a watch. In an industry dominated by Swiss and Japanese innovation, Germany’s Sinn has made respectable strides as a watchmaker. Though it isn’t as recognizable as more luxurious or high-profile watch brands, the Sinn 104 is as just as elegant and serves exceptionally well as a precision tool watch. This is a wristwatch designed to be worn every day for any occasion. It can last a lifetime, and although it commemorates a single moment, for now, the scratches inherited along the way will embody more stories to tell; this is the deep-rooted appeal of mechanical watches.
