Rumpl Down Puffy Blanket

October 14, 2018 by Erik Meisner Leave a Comment

Rumpl Down Puffy Blanket

“Since the dawn of humankind, blankets have been the most basic tool for comfort and security. Seriously, even before fire. Why then, over centuries of textile innovation, have relatively few updates been made to one of the most essential things on Earth? Rumpl aims to change that”. ~gorumpl.com

~Necessity is the mother of invention.

After a surf & ski trip in 2013 left the founders of Rumpl stranded in a car that wouldn’t start. Outside of cell range and in sub-zero temperatures. These two decided to bundle up in their sleeping bags, drink some whiskey and wait for someone to show up. Well, minutes turned into hours and the discussion focused on how the sleeping bag materials felt and performed compared to normal household blankets. It was then that the Rumpl down puffy blanket was born in concept.

Utilizing a 20D Ripstop Nylon with a DWR coating, the down blanket repels water, stains, pet hair, and odors. Filled with sustainably sourced 600 fill duck down insulation, this blanket will keep you cozy down to 40°F (~4°C). Keeping things lightweight and compact, the single person Rumpl down blanket weighs only 1.4 pounds and compresses to 7″x7″. Making it a perfect companion for camping, hiking or even when you don’t go anywhere. What really separates the Rumpl blanket from other alternatives is the DWR coating and water repellent down. Not only offering a warm shelter in a light rain, but making the blanket machine washable as well.

Rumpl Down Puffy Blanket

My original Army issue “woobie” has been put on notice. This stylish technical down blanket looks to bump my poncho liner out of contention. Living in a northern climate where temperatures can dip into the chilly range even in the summer, this Down Puffy blanket will accompany me on many occasions. Camping in the fall, boat trips that linger into the late evenings or just sitting around the backyard fire pit. In the winter, I’ll stuff this little blanket into my truck should I find myself stranded like the founders of Rumpl did in 2013. Rumpl also offers a synthetic insulated blanket, fleece blankets and more. So please take a look at their websiteand explore the great products from Rumpl.
