Dragon Fire Tinder Bag | When Your Life Depends on Starting a Fire

Dragon Fire Tinder Bag | When Your Life Depends on Starting a Fire

Ever been on a camping or backpacking trip where it rained all night long? Maybe you planned on making a nice hot cup of coffee in the morning, but all the available firewood and tinder was soaked. Many times, in similar conditions, you may need to start a fire for survival purposes, whether that’s to get warm, boil water, prepare food, or signal for rescue.

A few years ago, myself and a buddy were on a several day backpacking trip in the mountains of West Virginia. During the trip, it rained almost the entire time and thoroughly soaking everything around us. When it came time to start a fire to warm up our food and coffee, we were met with defeat – time and time again. Not only did it prevent us from having a fire, but it affected our attitudes as well. There is something to be said about fire being a morale booster. Since we were unable to get a sustainable fire going we reverted to our MSR Pocket Rocket backpacking stove to warm water for both food and coffee. We ended up consuming more fuel than we wanted to. If only we had some dry tinder to get those said fires going. Enter Dragon Fire Tinder.

From the owner of Dragon Fire:

Don’t get me wrong, I love making fire in a variety of ways and there are lots of cool ways to do it. BUT sometimes I just want to brew some coffee without working up a sweat or singeing my eyelashes off. That’s why I created Dragon Fire Tinderbox. It’s effective, reliable, lightweight, low cost, renewable and easy to use. I’m happy to share the tinder that has been gathered from nature. It’s a unique combination of materials with cedar wood, iron wood, pinecones, poplar bark, beeswax, soywax, cattails, milkweed fluff, applewood, oak, birch bark, jute string & fatwood and more. Plus, of course, super-secret ingredients obtained from the lair of our dragon at great personal risk.

Contents: cedar wood, iron wood, pinecones, poplar bark, beeswax, soywax, cattails, milkweed fluff, applewood, oak, birch bark, jute string & fatwood

Package Material: High food grade all aluminum bag, puncture resistant, and resealable.

Uses: Camping, backpacking, hiking, bug out bags, or wherever you want guaranteed dry tinder for a fire.

MSRP: $12.25 direct from the Dragon Fire store.
