Lithgow Arms USA is bringing their new F90 improved bullpup rifle to the USA next year. The F90 Atrax is a variant of the Steyr AUG with significant upgrades.
The Steyr AUG is a bullpup rifle, designed in the 1960s by Steyr Mannlicher GmbH & Co KG. The AUG (Armee-Universal-Gewehr—”universal army rifle”) was adopted by the Austrian Army as the StG 77 (Sturmgewehr 77). In production since 1978, it is also the standard rifle of the Austrian Bundesheer and various other police units, including the U.S. Customs Service
In 1988, Thales Australia produced the F88 Austeyr, a derivative of the Austrian Steyr AUG,. for the Australian Defence Force. The F90 is a product improved variant of the F88 bullpup rifle.
