Triple Aught Design Transport Sleeve: Throw out that old Laptop bag and modularize your life

Triple Aught Design Transport Sleeve: Throw out that old Laptop bags and modularize your life

January 8, 2018 by Richard Moore Leave a Comment

I’ve said it in previous and I’ll say it again; anytime Triple Aught Design (TAD) adds new equipment or apparel to their inventory, I need to have it. Well, they have done it again, this time they have outsmarted the competition by creating a product that replaces all those packs and bags that were specifically designed to carry your laptop. The Transport Sleeve is a piece of minimalist and modular gear that can work in any backpack without a laptop compartment or as a true compatible companion to all your TAD packs and panels (i.e., their Admin Panel 1 or Control Panel M-1). The Transport Sleeve can be mounted horizontally or vertically; thanks to the integrated Helix attachment points, depending on how you want to access the compartments. You can use a MOLLE strap flat clip or a GRIMLOC to connect to the TAD accessory connections within their kit.

The TAD Transport Sleeve comes in three sizes. The small version fits laptops and mobile devices like tablets up to 12.9 inches like the Apple 12” Macbook, Amazon Kindle, or even the Microsoft Surface Pro 4. The medium version is good for devices like the 13” Apple MacBook Pro, IBM’s Thinkpad X260 (for those that have executive sized corporate laptops), and the Microsoft Surface Book. The Large is by far the biggest and fits most other devices like the 15” MacBook Pro, IBM’s Thinkpad X1 Carbon, and the Thinkpad P50S (as most companies issues these sized systems). Of course, TAD has thought of everything, there is a front zippered compartment that can be used to stow your cables and chargers, and the back has a built-in document sleeve that is great for paper or flat items, or an iPad mini if you’re done with the whole paper thing.

If you live by the quote “If it isn’t raining we aren’t training,” or if you were a Marine and still never carry an umbrella because a little weather will not make you melt; you’ll love that the entire sleeve is weather-resistant! The shell is made from VX-03 and VX-21 ripstop shell with Hypalon synthetic rubber to keep water from seeping in through the zipper. The electronic devices are protected by a closed-cell cross-linked polyethylene foam that is sufficient to keep it safe inside a pack or bag and of course, is made in ‘Merica! So whether you are putting it in your bag, attaching it in a pack, or carrying it as a portfolio, the Transport Sleeve allows you to be a constant minimalist and adapt to your changing conditions.
