Stanley Compact Steel Cook Set Review

Stanley Compact Steel Cook Set Review

October 24, 2017 by Loadout Room Guest Authors Leave a Comment

I always enjoy the opportunity to test and review Stanley products, because they make some of the most reliable camping products in the industry. Their Compact Cook Set is just another example of quality that will last you for a lifetime.

To start, my favorite part of the Stanley Compact Cook Set is just how compact it really is. The nesting system allows the four pieces to stack on top and within each other to help save space. At 24 fluid ounces, the cook set is large enough to take up plenty of space on its own, which is why the nesting system works perfectly.

The system starts with an 18/8 stainless steel pot, which is like just about all Stanley products in the fact that it will not rust. It’s also naturally BPA-free to help keep the chemicals out of your food during cooking. A typical steel folding handle makes for easy holding when the contents and pot are hot.

The next set up is a mug/bowl that includes the standard volumetric markings for preparing and eating your food, as well as making drinks. A neoprene wrap around the side of this cup is perfect for keeping your hands safe from the extreme heat. I happen to think this is a small touch that can really make all the difference when you’re out in the field without gloves.

A small folding spork is included in the set, which comes with a small shelf on either side of the cup to keep it secured when everything is nested together. Finally, the lid is made of a melt-resistant nylon, which is also vented to help cool off the contents. The lid can be used either as a strainer when you have it in the steel pot, or as a drink-thru lid when using the polypropylene cup. The whole set weighs just under a pound and is 5.00L x 4.60W x 5.50H inches.

With this little set, you’ll never find yourself without a proper meal while you’re in the outdoors. Even better is the fact that you can store a fuel canister or ultralight stove in the cooking pot to help save space. As always, Stanley offers a lifetime warranty on all their products. Get yours now from Stanley for only $30.
