Available in three models–the Adjustable LED, Dual-Illuminated (battery-free) and LED with aiming dot sizes ranging from 1.0 MOA to 13 MOA— RMR Type 2 deploys new electronics that bolster durability in harsh environments, the press release says. For the RMR models that require batteries, the new electronics design and battery contacts boost reliability under harsh use and recoil.

The RMR Type 2 includes a Button Lock Out Mode that stops accidental adjustments to your preferred brightness. Battery Conversation Mode adjusts the aiming dot to ambient lighting conditions after 16.5 hours without a button push for further extend battery life. Offering a bright illuminated aiming point for instant target acquisition under virtually any circumstances, the RMR Type 2 is parallax-free, meaning a simple “point and shoot” operation.

Constructed from 7075-T6 aluminum to MIL-spec standards, Trijicon’s RMR Type 2 is a rugged and durable reflex sight. Its patented shape absorbs impacts and diverts stresses away from the lens, the company says. Weighing just 1.2 ounces, it’s designed withstand hard use.

Meanwhile, the CR2032 lithium battery lasts up to two years in the LED model, and up to four years in the Adjustable LED variant at mid-setting. Audible windage and elevation adjustments allow for quick and easy zeroing with no need for special tools or devices. The RMR Type 2 is compatible with all existing RMR mounts and optics-ready pistols.

The Adjustable LED model is available for $699. The Dual-Illuminated version costs $577, while the LED variant retails for $649.
