STREAMLIGHT® INTRODUCES TLR-6® RAIL MOUNT

STREAMLIGHT® INTRODUCES TLR-6® RAIL MOUNT

January 29, 2017 by Scott Witner Leave a Comment

Eagleville, PA, January 17, 2017 – Streamlight® Inc., a leading provider of high-performance lighting and weapon light/laser sighting devices, introduced the ultra-compact TLR-6® Rail Mount weapon light, designed to securely attach to the rail and trigger guard of standard and compact M&P®, and select Glock® and Springfield Armory® railed handguns. The ultra-compact light, which uses an ultra-bright power LED, also features an integrated red aiming laser.

In addition to fitting M&P standard and compact railed weapons, the new tactical light also can be used with Springfield Armory® XD®, XD(M)® , and XD® MOD.2® railed handguns, and over 14 different Glock railed standard and compact handgun models. (A full list of current model handguns it fits is available at Streamlight.com.)

In 2015, Streamlight became the first company to offer a light and integrated laser for sub-compact handguns when it introduced TLR-6 models that fit the trigger guard of Glock® 42 and Glock® 43 handguns. Today, the company offers multiple models of the light to fit a variety of compact pistols and full-size handguns.

“The TLR-6 Rail Mount brings the benefits of bright white light plus a red aiming laser to a wide variety of railed handguns from M&P, Glock and Springfield Armory,” said Streamlight President and Chief Executive Officer Ray Sharrah.  “It also features an integrated battery door that permits batteries to be replaced while the light remains mounted on the gun, eliminating the need to re-sight the laser.”

Importantly, Sharrah added, the light and laser combination enables users to more readily identify a potential threat before taking action.

The TLR-6 Rail Mount delivers 100 lumens, 2,000 candela and a beam distance of 89 meters.  Its parabolic reflector produces a balance of beam and peripheral illumination. The light features three lighting modes: LED Only, LED/Laser, and Laser Only, with operating run times of one hour for the LED Only or LED/Laser modes, and 11 hours for the Laser Only mode.  All modes automatically shut off after ten minutes to conserve batteries. The light also uses an integrated 640-660 nm red laser, which has an operating temperature range of -20°F to +120°F, permitting usage under a wide variety of weather conditions.

The TLR-6 is powered by two 3 Volt CR-1/3N lithium coin batteries.  It features an integrated battery door that permits batteries to be replaced while the light remains mounted on the gun, and eliminates the need to re-sight the laser after a battery change.

The light is manufactured from durable, impact-resistant engineered polymer.  It is IPX4 rated for water-resistant operation, and also is impact-resistant tested to one meter. The new models are 2.20 inches in length, and weigh up to 1.16 oz.

The TLR-6 Rail Mount has an MSRP of $175.00.  It comes with Streamlight’s Limited Lifetime Warranty.
