I never thought that walking down the isle at SHOT Show 2017 that three guys could all stop and agree that one gun was amazing. That was the case when the three writers from The Arms Guide stopped in our tracks to see the Slide Fire Belt Fed Rifle. The model BFR-556A is a legal and permanent modification to your AR-15 that allows the users to incorporate the patented Slide Fire Stock system with the fun of a of being belt fed. The system enables you to be able to load up 100 rounds of 5.56mm ammo on the standard issue M27 ammunition links and blast away as long as your wallet allows it, all which being National Firearms Act compliant.
The system is completely removable from the host AR-15 whenever the user wants to switch back to shooting the standard 30 round magazines. Although there are some needed modifications to the lower receiver of the rile that are permanent they don’t effect the overall performance of the rifle. While we stopped to marvel at this clever way for you to spend huge amounts of money on 5.56mm ammunition the staff explained that the system uses the newer Slide Fire Stock system, the SSAR-15.
As the saying goes, “You gotta pay to play”, the Slidefire BFR system isn’t cheap with a MSRP of $3495.95, but it’s cheaper than any transferable pre 1986 machine that is available on the open market. The system complete with SSAR-15 stock includes the following
- Customized Colt Model 6920 5.56mm rifle
- One belt fed model with 100 round M27 links
- One all weather case
- Two polymer magazines 30 round models
- One Magpul BUIS back up sight
- One SSRA-15 Stock
This new twist on the Slidefire Stock set up  really maximizes the appeal of the whole system and will be a huge hit for people wanting the fun of having a fully automatic capable weapon without the huge price tag usually associated with it. Tell us what you think of the new system, we want to hear from SlideFire owners and see how they are holding up.
