I recently had the opportunity to learn more about combat shotgunning from my friends at In Extremis Consulting Group (more on that soon). In some of the training, I ran one of my favorite shotguns, the Remington 870 Tactical. I thought it was fitting, seeing that we had planned to do a little door breaching. Funny thing is, I didn’t end up breaching our staged door with the Remington 870, but with the Mossberg 500 that Austin (the firearms instructor from this video) brought. Turns out my little t-rex arms are too short for the standard stock on the Remington, which makes some things, like door breaching, a little trickier. Luckily, there are other shotgun stock options that will let me run my favorite 12 gauge with fewer problems.
