Sometimes at Shot show, you see something and think, who needs that? Other times you see something and think, man why did it take this long to think of that? Manta wraps is certainly one of the latter. Manta makes a ton of really cool products, but the Manta suppressor covers shine pretty brightly.
If you’ve never shot a suppressed gun you probably aren’t aware that a suppressor gets hot as hell. Touching it will burn, hurt, and suck all at the same time. Suppressor wraps have existed, but they are typically bulky and not very form fitting. The Manta suppressor cover is different.
It’s a soft material that feels almost like latex or rubber. It adds about an inch in diameter to the entire package and weighs a mere seven ounces. The Manta suppressor cover is designed for 1.5 inch suppressors. It’s seven inches long but can interconnect with other suppressor covers to cover a long suppressor or being trimmed for a shorter one. The material is easy to grip and spin to remove your can when necessary. At the Shot Show booth Manta had the cover over a curling iron and I would have never known if they hadn’t told me.
You really don’t feel the heat emitted from the suppressor. There are limitations, they advise on their website that,
Not recommended for use in excess of 100 rounds of cyclic or continued rapid fire. Not recommended for use in excess of 50 rounds with Titanium suppressors.
Manta Wraps
Manta suppressor covers aren’t the only thing they offer. The Manta wraps also caught my eye. Called the Tac Wrap these rubberized wraps are universal for almost any rail system. As someone who runs a vertical grip and quad rail this would be a great piece of gear. When shooting around certain angles, like barriers, I drop the vertical grip and grab the rail. Quad rails are cheese graters so the Tac wrap provides a soft area to grip.
Like the suppressor cover, it’s comfortable, soft, and easy to remove and use. Regardless of where I grip my rifle I have a comfortable and sure grip on the system. Manta makes a lot of cool gear, check them out here.
