Last Minute Christmas Gifts for Gun and Gear Guys

I’m writing this on the 20th and just thinking about how happy I am with the fact I was basically done Christmas shopping in November. Typically I’m a last minute Christmas gift type so I’m sitting pretty this year. But I’m willing to bet there are more than a few people still scrambling. So to help those people out I’m giving you my favorite Last Minute Christmas Gifts for gun and gear guys and gals.

1. Manti Manufacturing Glock Tool

Manti Manufacturing is a small, veteran-owned manufacturing company whose entering the gun and gear scene. Their Glock tool is unique in the fact that is made entirely of billeted aluminum. The standard Glock tool is okay, it works, but its made of polymer. My first one was eaten by my dog, my last one is made of aluminum.

“But Travis, my son/husband/dad/mom/sister etc doesn’t own a Glock. That’s okay, this isn’t just made for Glocks. I’ve used it to punch pins on my Mossberg 500, my ARs, and my CZ. The name Glock tool is more of a suggestion than a hard and fast rule. It’s small but made to last. Now your second concern may be how exactly will I get it in time for Christmas? Well if you have Amazon Prime it’s only two days away. (Also Prime accounts can be had for a free month…just saying.) This isn’t just a great last minute Christmas gift, it’s an affordable one.

2. An 80% Lower Receiver

Why an 80% lower receiver over a standard lower receiver? Well, I wanted to keep this list 50 State friendly. 80 lowers aren’t considered firearms like a standard lower or frame. So you don’t have to go through an FFL to order them. You can ship or have them shipped directly to the end user. With the crunch getting real you may not have time to rely on an FFL to handle the transfer.

In states with Universal background checks, you also may have legal issues giving a receiver as a Christmas gift. You won’t have those issues with an 80% lower receiver. There are two ways to go. There is the AR 15 80% lower receiver, or the Glock 80% frames. Either is an outstanding gift. The AR will likely be the cheaper and more common method of building a gun, but an 80% “not a Glock” Glock would be cool.

As far as last minute Christmas gifts go an 80 lower receiver is fun for the whole family. Seriously you can buy in bulk and have the fun of a family build party. Our friends at 80-lower.com have pretty much everything you need for an AR 15 build. Polymer 80 has you covered for a “Glock” build.

3. A New EDC Knife/Light/Gadget

The every day carry concept has gone mainstream and it’s becoming less of an acronym and more of a way of life. EDC guns and gear often rotate with those in the EDC world. A concealed carrier or edc enthusiast would likely be pretty pumped to get a new piece of gear for the rotation. With so many many choices I won’t limit it to one. Here are a few last minute Christmas gifts for edc that are Loadout Room Approved.

Gerber Impromptu

Vertx Gamut

Spyderco Gayle Bradley 2

Streamlight ProTac HL 4

4. Give the Gift Of Ammo

I’ll keep this short. As a gun guy get me ammo. If you don’t know what to get me, just buy me ammo, lots and lots of ammo. It’s not hard to find out what guns and calibers loved ines shoot. Just ask. I personally don’t care what gun you are buying me ammo for, I’ll just appreciate having some boom booms in the stocking. Ammo is the best “Holy crap it’s Christmas eve I need a gift for this guy.” last minute Christmas gift. Another cool option is a subscription to Ammo Squared. They deliver ammo monthly and it’s one of those gifts that keep on giving.

5. Crate Club Subscription

Now some of you are probably rolling your eyes, of course, I would suggest this right? Well even if I wasn’t writing for the Loadout Room I would still suggest a Crate Club membership. In fact, I enjoy it so much I have a membership not only for me but I’m giving one as a Christmas Gift. It’s basically the gift that keeps on giving. You can purchase subscriptions by the month or by a set number of months. I went with the 6-month option and for the holidays there is a 15% off sale going on. If you miss the December Crate it’s okay, your recipients are still getting what’s basically a Christmas gift every month.

A few Goodies included in recent Crates.
