I’ve had really good success with Faxon products. I especially like their AR barrels.
At NRA show this year, I learned that they’d be selling Glock barrels.
In fact, the second day of the show, they released their G17 threaded barrels for public sale, and I picked up the very first one.
Early adopters
Sometimes being an early adopter can be a bad thing. I mean, it DOES help the overall population, but you have to deal with any early kinks discovered—kinks discovered if the product has been rushed to market. I like to be an early adopter, but I’ve had my fair share of difficult experiences with the process as a result. However, I’ve experienced none of those foibles with Faxon products. This barrel has proven to be no exception.
Experience
I’m not sure how many rounds have gone down that flame fluted pipe so far.
It’s more than a few and less than all the 9mm rounds in the world.
Regardless, we’re months into evaluation and the barrel shows no negative signs whatsoever. I’m happy to recommend Faxon’s Flame Fluted, Threaded, 416-R, Nitride, Match Series Glock barrel without reservation.
If you’re looking for an after market threaded Glock barrel, this is a worthy consideration.
Impressions
The barrel’s aesthetics are attractive. The eye is drawn to the barrel’s salt bath nitride finish (mine’s a nice black) and the clean 11 degree target crown that tops off precise threads.
The barrel fits a bit more tightly than the stock Glock barrel but functions without issue.
Faxon’s barrels feature 1:10 twist standard rifling, allowing reloaded cast bullets to be used without concern. The industry standard 1/2×28 TPI threads will work with almost all silencer manufacturer’s products.
Ultimately, whether you’re just looking for a little added bling to your gun, or you’re hoping to add to its potential function, this option will be the perfect fit.
In fact, it will fit your needs as tightly as a precisely machined drop-in barrel.
