In an announcement today that seemed ominous once it was uttered Department of Homeland Security Director Jeh Johnson stood at the White House and took center stage announcing that the Department of Homeland Security will now weigh into the world once formerly reserved for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives. What will the new DHS plan for gun control look like ? What will it do to the current NICS background check systems that have worked fairly well but rarely ever enforced by local or federal law enforcement agencies? The bigger issue here is what will the BATFE now be doing ? are we beginning to see the start of a new massive collaborative government agency that will begin a power grab from other agencies like the Federal Bureau of Investigations ? It is an election year anyone guess is as good as the next.
Keep checking back with the site as we contact our sources to see if we can get any information on this developing topic, chances are this type of thing might highly guarded until its unveiling. This also might never happen due to Congressional oversight committees that govern the BATFE and DHS respectively
