In the last few years there have been several high profile shootings at U.S. Military installations, would these have been able to been stopped by legal CCW holders? Is Legal CCW on Military Bases coming soon ? That very question has been posed to both civilian and Military authorities and law enforcement officials as well as members of Congress. With the most recent election many proponents of legal CCW had been calling for the ability of Military members to be able to legally carry a conceal firearms on installations. To many of us it seems absurd that members of the Armed Forces are trained and allowed to carry a wide array of weapons into combat but aren’t allowed to carry a simple side arm to protect themselves and their families.
National Rifles Association President Wayne LaPierre has once again lead the charge and called for progun members of Congress to seize the momentum at hand and make meaningful forward progress on gun issues including both National CCW Reciprocity and the ability for military members to carry concealed firearms. BUT, will this really happen or is it a unrealistic dream ?
