Hygenall LeadOff: Tactical Hygiene Soap for dirty shooters

Hygenall Corporation has released new shooting sport safety products today under their Hygenall® LeadOff™ brand, cleaning and heavy metal decontamination products for skin.

Orginally designed for military and industrial applications, Hygenall LeadOff’s safety benefits make it ideal for both the shooting sports community and anyone looking to protect themselves from the harmful effects of lead dust produced by firearms and their components.

Hygenall LeadOff is a new “Tactical Hygiene” soap that is available as non-rinse wipes, soaps and surface cleaners. The new product is un-paralled in its ability to remove both lead oxide as well as dirt and germs, without using dangerous or harsh chemicals.

As shooting sports has grown significantly over the past several years, with thousands of new gun owners learning how to shoot, so has the risk of lead exposure. “Even in unseen microscopic quantities, lead is dangerous. Ingesting lead can cause a reduction in congnitive abilities or I.Q. – particularly with children,” said Michael McKinnon, Product Manager for the new Hygenall LeadOff retail line. “Parents who enjoy shooting sports may be a significant source of lead to children at home because lead dust sticks to skin through a strong electrostatic process, which is why regular soap and water is not an effective skin cleaner for heavy metals.”

Most lead exposure comes from the primer. As a gun is discharged, lead from the primer is “blown back” on the shooter or lands on the end of the rifle barrell, exactly where the forearm is located. Handling and reloading ammo, or simply touching firearms creates an opportunity for exposure.

“You don’t have to be the operator of the gun to become exposed to harmful unseen quantities of lead dust.” n what is known as “Toxic Hand-Off”, lead can be transferred to things a person touches such as furniture, door handles, floors, and radio knobs. “Lead likes to stick to negative charged surfaces and will stay there until someone comes along and touches it,” McKinnon added.

“Hygenall LeadOff brand decontamination and cleaning soaps have been designed to replace regular soaps in the bathroom, removing not just harmful heavy metals, but also dirt, grime and germs – like a traditional soap,”

McKinnon continued, “Hygenall LeadOff products are one of the reasons why we do not need further government rules in shooting lead ammunition, because Hygenall represents a viable commercial answer to the problem. We leveraged our experience in making cleaning and decontamination products for Industry and the Military to make gentle and effective cleaners in a formulation familiar to consumers.” Further cementing Hygenall LeadOff’s gentle nature, the product is made from safe, ‘green’ sustainable materials and is 100 percent safe for everyday use.

Several new Hygenall Leadoff retail products were launched at the 2017 Shot Show at the Las Vegas Convention Center, and are available now for retailers and distributors nationwide.

Lead in the Environment

Lead is a naturally occurring bluish-gray metal found in small amounts in the earth’s crust. Lead can be found in all parts of our environment. Much of it comes from human activities including burning fossil fuels, mining, and manufacturing. Lead has many different uses. It is used in the production of batteries, ammunition, ammunition primers, metal products (solder and pipes), gasoline, paints, caulking, ceramic products, devices to shield X-rays, building materials, decoratons and goods often found in the home including toys.

When should Hygenall LeadOff be used?

Hygenall soap replaces regular bathroom soap and should be used daily to remove lead, dirt and germs. When used as directed, Hygenall LeadOff foaming soap provides a soothing soapy lather that carry’s lead oxide, dirt, and germs off and away from skin leaving a fresh clean feeling. If rinse water is not available, Hygenall LeadOff is available in non-rinse wipes that can be used to clean off skin and can be stored in a typical range-bag.

Hygenall LeadOff is a preventative measure, and not a cure for lead poisoning, nor will it protect you from lead in water or if you inhale lead dust. If you suspect lead poisoning contact your doctor immediately
