SOB Tactical Condom Holster

July 4, 2017 by Scott Witner 1 Comment

SOB Tactical Condom Holster

The SOB Tactical Condom Holster is an all leather minimalist holster for appendix inside the waistband carry (AIWB). The clip used on this holster has a clothing catch on it to keep the holster retained on the body when you draw your pistol. This design is based on John McPhee’s operational experience in the Army’s elite Delta Force.

From the SOB Tactical website:

“I started wearing this Condom style holster in the mid 90s. It became a staple of what I wore in combat. From the highest peeks of Stan to the streets of Baghdad, now yours! My favorite too.” – John ‘Shrek’ McPhee

I’ve been through several holsters trying to find what worked best for me. For a long time I stayed away from leather holsters and even wrote an article about the dangers of a leather holster. After some thought I decided to give the SOB Tactical Condom Holster a try and I’m glad I did!

Before I could start carrying the holster I had to ‘fit’ my gun to it. For that all I had to do was wrap the muzzle of the gun in 3 layers of plastic saran wrap, insert the gun into the holster and let it sit for a day or two. Now the gun fits snug, but not so snug that I cannot draw from the holster.

Notice that it is stamped with G17. I originally ordered this for my Glock 17, but it will fit a Glock 26 and Glock 19.

The SOB Tactical Condom holster is much more comfortable to wear than many other kydex holsters that I have purchased and tried. I carry a Glock 26 appendix using this holster and have no issues at all concealing it under just a t-shirt. If you’re still not sold on the idea of a leather holster, then I encourage you to take a look at the line of deep concealment kydex holsters SOB tactical offers.
