Rep Fitness Plyo Box | Review

Rep Fitness Plyo Box | Review

Ever since leaving the military I’ve been involved in some sort of PT (physical training), whether that is trail running, lifting, or other physical activities. I’ve joined a few gyms here and there and ended up cancelling memberships at each one. I’m not one for going to a crowded gym to exercise. The advantage to a gym membership is the availability of all the equipment. The disadvantage is the mob of people depending on the time of year.

It’s been a few years now that I have not been a member of any type of gym or workout facility. I have been building my own home gym over time in my garage. I don’t have any fancy weight racks, benches or bumper plates. My focus has been on body weight exercise routines. I’m a big fan of body weight exercises such as pull-ups, push-ups and bar dips.

Recently I had received the September Spartan Carton box in the mail. Included in the box was a 10lb weighted vest and a workout printed on a 5×7 card for easy reference. That workout is the 15 minute Spartan Thrash that is all body weight exercises using the 10lb weighted vest. It’s a killer workout. One of the exercises for the Spartan Thrash is box jumps. At the time I received the Spartan box I did not have a plyo box to do box jumps, but now I do.

Enter the Rep Fitness Plyo Box

The Rep Fitness Plyometric Box is an all plywood heavy duty plyo box capable of 3 different heights depending on your fitness level. The box comes disassembled with directions and wood screws. Assembly of the box takes only about 15 minutes. Once assembled the box is rock solid.

The box is assembled using standard wood screws, making it easy to disassemble to transport. You have the option of using wood glue for additional structural support of the joints, but I have not found the need to do so.

There are handles cut out on either side of the box making it easier to move around or transport to and from a vehicle or storage.

Also worth mentioning is that each side of the box is labeled with its respective height making it easy to quickly determine the height your jumping at.

If you’re looking to add a plyo box to your home gym or any other equipment for that matter, Rep Fitness is definitely worth a look.
