Pelican Elite Coolers: Tougher coolers designed for adventure

Pelican Elite Coolers: Tougher coolers designed for adventure

This is my first go with Pelican Coolers, so this is my first impression of the product and brand. The two coolers I received were the 30qt Elite Cooler and larger 70qt Elite Cooler. You can tell as soon as you lift them out of the box, you’ve got a quality cooler. Just the heft that these have echo the toughness these coolers exude. Not only do they have a quality heft to them, but they are solidly built. What I mean by that is when you set it on the ground, and work with the cooler, everything is engineered with tight tolerances to maximize the performance.

The latches that lock the lids down are a different design than I’m used to having on hard-sided coolers. Other coolers in this competitive market have heavy duty rubber type latches that have a little stretch to them. The Pelican Elite Coolers have easy to use press and pull latches.

If you’re into overlanding or family camping, you need to take a hard look at what Pelican Coolers has to offer. The fact that these coolers can extend the effectiveness of ice and keep your food and drinks cold for days on end, is pretty impressive. Even having one or two of the larger coolers, such as the 70qt on standby for natural disasters or when a storm knocks the power out, can be a lifesaver. Throw all your food from the refrigerator into one or two of the larger coolers and you’re good to go for upwards of a week. These coolers can be a force multiplier in your disaster preparedness kit.
