Outdoor Retailer 2017 | Nemo Stargaze Recliner

Outdoor Retailer 2017 | Nemo Stargaze Recliner

When it comes to portable camp chairs, there are currently 2 distinct types. Those cheap $19 nylon/canvas units from the sporting goods store that implode when you sit in them. And the more robust upright types that don’t really fold into anything I’d consider portable. Having owned both, I was excited to see what the folks at Nemo Equipment had come up with. True portability and the ability to recline are both features found in the Stargaze Recliner.

Able to be broken down and stored in a 23″ x 7″ carry case, this 6lb. 5oz. chair isn’t something you’ll be packing in a backpack. More suited to the recreational camper, tailgater or backyard dweller, the Stargaze won’t disappoint. Auto reclining hardware allows the chair to recline when needed and recover automatically when sitting upright. Additionally, the Stargaze Recliner is suspended from the frame with a pair of straps essentially forming a rocking chair. Finally, four independent legs allow for solid contact on uneven ground. Providing the stability needed for the Ultimate in Kick-Back Comfort..

Providing support of up to 300 pounds, the Stargaze Recliner is a robust design. Heavy grade waterproof nylon mesh make up most of the chair, simplifying clean-up and drying. Additional padding is added to key areas in the headrest and the front edge of the chair. As you can see in the demonstration video below, set-up is relatively simple and quick. So if you’re tired of the disposable camp chairs currently on the market like I am, take a look at Nemo Equipment for another great Camp Life product.

Available October 1 at REI for the holiday season. Then at outdoor retailers for spring 2018. The Nemo Stargaze Chair is available in 3 versions. Short, Regular Recliner ($179) and Luxury Recliner ($219).
