The U.S. Army and Air Force are transitioning to a new Operational Camouflage Pattern (OCP) uniforms. For the first time, this uniform is available for commercial sale. The Air Force adoption of the pattern along with Army’s approaching mandatory possession date made commercial availability a necessity.
Originally code namedScorpion W2, OCP was officially adopted in 2014 by the US Army replacing the Universal Camouflage Pattern (UCP) as the official camouflage pattern for soldiers. TacticalGear.com is the first to retail the approved uniform in the official pattern. The first delivery is expected by the end of October and they are available for pre-order.
This has been anticipated since the first announcement of the transition in 2014, especially now with the high demand for uniforms. The delay in a commercial release is credited towards the possibility of Crye Precision taking legal action due to the similarities between the pattern and Crye’s popular camouflage, MultiCam.
