Mothers Day is this weekend and finding a ‘practical’ gift can sometimes be a challenge, especially for us guys. Instead of buying flowers or a plant that will eventually die (they do in my house), why not put together some everyday carry tools or build her a go-bag. Now I’m not talking about some big monstrous backpack that she will lug around everywhere; I’m talking about items that she can fit into her purse or bag she already carries with her every day. You know your mom and wife best, so choose items that are specific to her daily habits and routine. Here are some examples.
- Hand sanitizer
- Headlamp
- Small Folding Knife
- Tactical Pen/Discreet Stabbing Tool
- Whistle
- • Lighter
- Compact first aid kit
- Aspirin or Ibuprofen
Of course, knowledge of what to do in an emergency or disaster situation is critical. For that, I recommend Clint Emerson’s book 100 Deadly Skills.
