AT SEA (September 12, 2016) – A Marine with Maritime Raid Force, 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit, climbs aboard a rigid-hulled rubber boat following a Visit, Board, Search, and Seizure mission executed off the coast of San Clemente Island, Calif., as part of the 11th MEU’s Certification Exercise, Sept. 13, 2016. Once a ship has been cleared of enemy threat and searched for weapons and high-value individuals following a VBSS mission, the vessel will then be turned over to host-nation security forces.
